Technique Tuesday returns…

…and it is fantastic to be back!

Just in case you are new to my work and following along with what I do, I have started back to work again after attempting to take a sabbatical but to say that I failed would be a touch of an understatement. I wasn’t kidding myself that I would be lying on a chaise longue somewhere in the corner of my studio, napping and rushing to my easel to throw a mark onto a canvas, but I didn’t think I would be as busy as I have been.

However, opening myself up to a bigger audience than usual has brought some amazing opportunities so I need to take note and maybe organise my diary a little differently in the future. We will see.

But here I am back with a few tweaks to what will be happening and where you can find me, the first being that Technique Tuesday will now be found live on YouTube. There are many reasons for this, some technical, some personal and some considering learning trends but if you have found this blog then you will also find the recorded footage, the resources and links to the equipment I used. Please be aware that I use affiliate links so if you click on a product here and then end up buying it, I get a tiny kickback to keep these broadcasts free to all so we help each other out.

This year I made the decision to theme each month that I teach, mostly to help my online art collective The All A-Board Artists (read more about them HERE) but also to help focus the techniques I am sharing and so no matter how you interact with my tuition, we will all be talking about similar things during the month.

A lovely theme to start off my academic year as it has lots of scope for interpretation and so I thought Technique Tuesday could do with one of my favourite flowers to see at this time of year - Snowdrops. Please keep scrolling to see the photograph, equipment list and then right at the bottom, the footage from today’s broadcast. This blog and my newsletter will be updated every week so if you like what I do and want to keep in touch, please sign up for my newsletter HERE and I’ll be speaking to you over the next couple of weeks.

It’s so lovely to see you all, Ali
