Printmaking Project Part 4

It’s been a funny old week, not the norm at all. A lovely trip to Wales to teach, an epic day out in London to see the Royal Ballet, some sad news from an old friend and then an unexpected weekend off spent in the sunshine. Do you ever get weeks like that? You start out with one plan in mind and end up with the total opposite of what you expected?

I think that’s why I love Technique Tuesday so much, it grounds me and puts me back on the straight and narrow when other elements have the potential to knock me off course. Oh don’t get me wrong, I don’t crave every day being the same, far from it, I simply like to be reminded sometimes that there are people out there who are waiting to see what I do next and it’s great to have your support.

So on to this week. Dodgy sadly still hasn’t appeared so I’m still choosing to imagine her off in another tree, looking after a few eggs and staying safe. Dotty old animal lover? You bet ya. But no matter what, my tribute to her has been an awesome project to get immersed in and I’m excited to share the next part with you.

While I still have your attention though, I’d like to share the information about Dorset Art Weeks, this is where over 300 artists across the county open up their studios and invite the general public in for a catch up, a cuppa and to see their latest work. I will have a small new collection of pieces, some new collaborative works and items to suit every budget PLUS you don’t have to visit to take part as I will be doing the same as I did last year and making it an online event too.

There will be more information nearer the time but keep your eyes peeled wherever you hear from me and I promise you won’t get left out.

Until then, here is the next instalment of the printmaking project where we talk about mark making:

To keep you in the loop, there are two more TTs on the 5th and 12th April and then I’m taking a bit of a break until 3rd May…and from then on you will be heartily sick of me as I will be popping up EVERYWHERE - mwah ha ha.
Thanks for your continuing support and have a great week, Ali
