Technique Tuesday for June

Good morning everyone, wherever you are in the world, thanks for joining me for an experimental Technique Tuesday!

It’s going to be good to be back live with you again, I had to record our session together last month as I was on holiday but this one will be back live again. I’m also sadly excited about testing my new super fast broadband that we have had finally reach the farm, fingers crossed that it does what I need it to do!

You may have already noticed that this month is a little different in that, I haven’t chosen a subject or a medium, I’m using past artists for inspiration and the Impressionists in particular. During the month you will see a variety of artists pop up in what I am doing but today I have chosen Walter Sickert. Technically he was a post-impressionist but if you look at his work, you will see why I have chosen him for inspiration. I do encourage you to read a little more about him as he was a fascinating human, two things that made me gravitate towards him were the fact that he used to paint from photographs and also used a grid method to draw out his subjects, things that are often chastised now, and if you follow me regularly, you will know my thoughts on this!

As I am writing this, I don’t know where I’m going to go with this project, I have a starting point and some materials but haven’t over-planned it as I love to respond to what happens on my paper - who knows where it will end up?

So grab your materials, unleash your creativity, and let's embark on exciting artistic discoveries, don’t forget to leave me a comment either here or on YouTube and if you share your work on social media, please include the tag @aliboardartist.

See you again very soon, I’ll be back with another TT on the 2nd of July, Ali.

The equipment Ali will use in her demo:

In previous Technique Tuesdays, Ali has provided affiliate links to the equipment she uses, she would receive a very small amount of money if you purchased via these links but she has now decided to do something a little different. You will still find all of the equipment listed below but now, if you have enjoyed Ali’s tutorial and would like to make sure that they stay free in the future (they take approximately six hours to prepare and deliver), then you are very welcome to ‘Buy her a Coffee’ or as we prefer to say ‘Buy the hens some corn’. The button below will take your donation through to our checkout system BUT if you are on a tight budget, please keep your money for more important things, we are, after all, a community where we look out for each other and we want you to enjoy our content.
